![]() Yes she learned something from it, BUT HE STILL DID IT ON PURPOSE. Then of course, he made Twilight jealous in the new one ON PURPOSE. Keep him away from jewelry/gold and I bet Smooze would be fine. Hell, I trust The Smooze more than I trust Discord. "Keep New Friends But Keep Discord" and now "What About Discord?" In the first one, he got jealous of Fluttershy having another friend. AT THIS POINT THEY SHOULD HAVE TURNED HIM BACK TO STONE. I'll admit he made up for it in the end but the fact of the matter is that HE TURNED ON HIS NOW SUPPOSED "FRIENDS." STRIKE THREE. OH BOY WHERE DO I BEGIN?! HE HELPED TIREK. Discord got his comeuppance at the end of the episode though. Not a great start for some jerk who's supposed to be "reformed" now is it? Then there was "Three's a Crowd" The only episode that made this bearable for me was Princess Cadence. Then, he was pretty much the cause of the Tree of Harmony going berserk in the Season 4 premiere. that wasn't really a good episode and there was NO REASON TO REFORM HIM IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER. You can't expect me to trust him after that. Things didn't get much better after that for me. Was he though? He seemed to want Fluttershy as a friend though. "Keep Calm and Flutter On" was the supposed "episode" where Discord was supposed to be reformed. I overreacted to the revealing of Twilight becoming a princess but that's not what this is about. Most people don't seem to like this season. This season seems to be the most controversial of them all from what I've seen. He was probably the most interesting villain of them all. When Discord was introduced in Season 2, I actually did like him. Maybe an explanation is in order? At least in terms of why I don't like Discord and I can't accept his so-called "Reformation" which is pretty much a bold faced lie and he hasn't reformed at all IMO. So since I'm constantly surrounded by "controversial" opinions/stuff in general for whatever reason. Possibly the worst episode I've watched of the whole series. In fact, for me, it was the worst of the season. The voice acting is on point, John DeLancie continues to be perfect casting for Discord. The story is lively and is packed full of fun moments and strong conflict. As to be expected, the animation is vibrant and richly detailed and the music has both groove and atmosphere. Every character has shining moments, even little things like Celestia's laugh at Discord's joke and Rarity and Applejack's look to each other reacting to their sisters' yelling. Spike has a creepy moment with Discord too. Seeing Rarity and Applejack being civil to Discord and Fluttershy being assertive was great, Treehugger was an awesome character here and Celestia trolling was fun. The characters interact so well with each other, with all the Mane 6 being true to character, just as fun and likeable and having individual personalities. When it comes to the character interaction, "Make New Friends But Keep Discord" is one of the season's most interesting. Discord is a joy in this episode, not only does have great comic timing and a compelling personality his want to change is very believable and his struggles feel real. The dialogue here is some of the season's smartest and is filled with laugh out loud lines, there are plenty of jokes and references (often from Discord) and the best of them in an episode where all of them hit are hilarious. ![]() As far as Discord-centric episodes go, it is one of the funniest and is easily one of the funniest ones of Season 5. "Make New Friends But Keep Discord" is absolutely great otherwise though. The whole thing with the smooze was a touch rushed. It was also great and actually quite refreshing in a much needed way that Season 5 went from in just one episode one of its worst episodes in "Appleoosa's Most Wanted" to one of its best in "Make New Friends But Keep Discord". It is a perfect example of why he is such a great character and one of his best episodes in my view. It does however work for Discord in "Make New Friends But Keep Discord" but it was not overused or exaggerated. Episodes revolving around a character being jealous varied in quality, with it for example not working with Spike in Season 1's "Owl's Well that Ends Well". One of the funniest and most interesting, as well as one of the more consistent characters when it comes to characterisation (mostly, there were a couple of exceptions). Ever since he was first introduced in the Season 2 premiere "Return of Harmony", Discord has been one of my favourite 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic' characters.
